Control and manage localised areas of excessive sweating

Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating can be lifestyle limiting and make you feel self-conscious. Whether in day to day life, warmer weather, or when exercising, excessive sweating can become embarrassing very quickly. While there is unfortunately no cure for hyperhidrosis, it can be managed and lessened with targeted medical injections in the affected area. Popular treatment areas we can successfully lessen excessive sweating in is under the arms, or the arm pits. RJ Aesthetic uses a medical toxin that is injected into the treatment area to stop the overactive glands from producing as much sweat. Your results could last up to 6 months!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes excessive sweating either all over the body or in localised areas. It can be embarrassing to live with and unfortunately there is no cure, but for those who experience it in localised areas such as the under-arms we can safely manage the condition.

How does this treatment work?
Dr Chadda uses the same regulated medical toxin that smooths fine lines and wrinkles as he does for the treatment of excessive sweating. They work in much the same in this treatment, too, because they stop the sweat glands being able to produce as much sweat as they previously had been.

How long do the results last?
It can take around 4 weeks for sweating to significantly reduce after your treatment, after which you could feel fresher and drier for between 4-12 months!

How many treatments will I need?
One treatment in the affected area is enough to secure you results that could last up to 12 months, but after this you will need maintenance appointments to prolong your results.

Does this treatment hurt?
Dr Chadda uses a topical anaesthetic on the treatment area to numb it before proceeding. This should minimise any sensations felt, but you should only feel a slight discomfort as each injection is carried out.

Are there any side effects?
This treatment does come with a few side effects. Mild flu-like symptoms are common and some minor swelling and redness may occur, but these tend to subside within 24 hours of treatment.
