What is involved in the procedure?
The practitioner takes a small amount of blood which is put into laboratory equipment to separate the red blood cells from plasma. This plasma is then injected into the desired area using fine needles. Plasma contains those amazing cells called platelets which are responsible for releasing growth factors that wake up the stem cells causing them to transform, heal and produce new cells.
How many procedures are required?
Everyone’s needs are individual depending on the area to be treated. The practitioner will discuss this with you during the consultation. The standard protocol is at least 3 treatment per year also dependent on the area to be treated and individual circumstances. Hair restoration requires more treatments.
Is it painful?
There may be mild discomfort from injections and a tingling sensation. This is a normal part of the healing process. Mild erythema(redness) may be visible for a few hours in the treatment area.
What results are expected?
The treatment will give you an instant skin ‘glow’ on the days following the procedure and then the magic begins as the actual process of new cells formation starts. You will continue to see improvement over the next 30 to 90 days as you produce new cells in the treatment area.
